The 6th graders were studying the history of the invention of the microscope, so they started in a similar way as the scientists of the past, first looking at common objects (soil, coins, grass, plant parts) with the human eye, then with one hand lens, and then eventually using two hand lens, which is the basis for the modern-day microscope! 🔬
