Grace Strodel
Jean Taber '59 presented Grace Strodel with her Hall of Fame plaque.
Anyone familiar with Christian High School or Lexington Christian Academy is aware of the incredible impact of the Strodel Family on this community. This school’s gym wall bears Miles’ name. Grace’s own impact on Athletics has resulted in thousands of girls taking part in Trojans, Lazers, or Lions athletics. In 1949 Grace Strodel founded the Leaders Club for girls who were interested in studying the rules of sports such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, and softball. This club would serve as the cornerstone for girls’ sports at CHS and LCA. Throughout her own time at LCA, Grace served as a mentor and coach to thousands of girls. Additionally, Every June, the Athletic Department has the privilege of awarding a female student-athlete the Grace Strodel Coaches Award.
Paul Rouse '68

Paul Rouse'68 was a three sport athlete at LCA, competing in soccer, basketball, and baseball. He was a member on the first boys soccer team and was a key player on the Trojan Basketball and Baseball Teams. Paul would return to LCA to coach throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. His impact on the many young men that he coached is still felt today as his players speak highly of his ability, character, and leadership. Paul’s teammate, assistant coach, friend, and LCA Hall of Fame Member, Reg Henley '69 presented Paul with his Hall of Fame plaque.
Jackie Vander Brug '86

Jackie VanderBrug was a three sport standout athlete as she competed on the then Trojan field Hockey, basketball, and girls’ lacrosse teams. Her leadership on these teams led to successful seasons and culminated in the 1986 Eastern Massachusetts Division 2 Championship with the girls’ lacrosse team. Following LCA, Jackie went on to lead the Calvin College Field Hockey Team. While playing for the Knights, Jackie was a Michigan InterCollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) all star in 1987, 1988, and 1989. She helped lead Calvin to their first ever NCAA Tournament berth in 1988 and was selected as the MIAA MVP in her Senior Season. Jackie’s Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach, and LCA Hall of Fame Member, Irene Campbell presented Jackie with her Hall of Fame plaque.

 Melissa Christmas '96

Melissa Christmas '96 was presented her Hall of Fame plaque by her soccer coach Scott Stevens '87.

Melissa Christmas excelled in three sports at LCA - soccer, basketball, and baseball (this was prior to the softball program getting started). Melissa was an outstanding goal keeper for the girls soccer team and a star on the girls basketball team that captured the 1995-96 Eastern Independent League title. Following her graduation at LCA she went onto a successful basketball career at Eastern Nazarene College where in her senior season she surpassed the 1,000 point mark, led ENC to their first ever NCAA tournament and Sweet 16 appearance, and was selected as conference MVP. Following college, Melissa served her country in the US Army. Following her time in the service Melissa returned to work at LCA and coach Varsity Softball, JV Girls’ Soccer, and JV Girls’ Basketball. As softball coach she led the Lady Lions to the 2012 EIL Title (first since 2000) and she was also a member of the girls’ soccer coaching staff during the 2012 Undefeated EIL Championship season. Melissa’s soccer coach Scott Stevens '87 presented Melissa with her Hall of Fame plaque.

The evening was filled with great stories of athletic accomplishment, teams that were like families, lifelong friendships, and a deep appreciation for the LCA community. A special thank you to the Athletic Department, Office of Institutional Advancement, and the Lions' Booster Club for a great evening of celebration!
