LCA's Fitness Center and Core Renovation Campaign
One year after the lead gift for the First Fruits Fitness Center, this new addition is now open and ready for our community. In addition to the full cardio and weight training center, the first floor locker rooms, showers, and restrooms have been completely renovated. A new nurse's office and trainer's office have been added as well. Thank you to the many donors who made these additions and much needed upgrades possible.
The First Fruits Fitness Center
Renovation Floor Plan
LCA has long dreamed and planned of adding a fitness center and update the locker rooms, showers, and restrooms; the final areas of the school that have remained relatively unchanged since our Lexington campus opened in 1965. While this renovation project was not originally planned for this year, in God’s providence a donor shared LCA’s dream and presented our Academy with a $500,000 pledge to make this renovation possible this year.
This challenge gift presents a rare opportunity to make tremendous improvements to the school’s facilities. The total cost of the renovations will be $1.25 million. In addition to the $500,000, an additional $200,000 has been committed by alumni, parents, and other supporters of LCA’s mission. I have been so encouraged by the initial response to this project, but demolition cannot begin without your help.
In order for the fitness center and renovations to be completed for the start of next school year, demolition will need to take place during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. We will not feel comfortable starting this project, unless more of the funds are secured. Your gift this fall can ensure that fundraising will not delay this project an additional year.
Our students need healthy bodies and keen minds to be the leaders of tomorrow. Your support of both LCA’s Academy Fund (providing faculty enrichment, student scholarships, and additional educational resources) and the Fitness Center and Core Renovation Campaign make that possible.
