Luke Mollenhauer '22 and his U15 GPS teammates celebrate their IMG Cup victory.

Following up his rookie season as an 8th grade player on the LCA Boys' Varsity Soccer Team, Luke Mollenhauer '22 and his U15 Global Premier Soccer team competed at the IMG Cup - Boys Invitational, at the world renown IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The tournament attracts the nation's most elite soccer clubs to participate in unrivaled competition.

The three match, group stage format tournament featured some of the top U15 clubs in the country.
Mollenhauer's team defeated IMG U15 (Florida) 6-0, Academy Play Pro (Uruguay) 5-1, and tied Weston FC (Florida) 2-2. The team accumulated 7 points for their results and won their bracket while scoring 13 goals while conceding only 3.  As a result of team's performance, their national rank moved up to #33 in the under 15 age group.

During the 2017 Fall season at LCA, Luke started many games at left back for the Lions and helped to secure a strong defensive back four. Luke and his LCA teammates made a great run in the NEPSAC Class D tournament only to fall 1-0 in the final against Hyde School. Luke and his brother, Ben '19, will be part of a skilled core group returning for next year's team. A multi-sport, student-athlete, you can also find Luke playing guard for LCA's Middle School Boys' Basketball team this winter.
