Deidre Tao has been painting professionally for about thirty years. Her paintings have been purchased by private collectors across the US, UK, and Australia. As a self-represented artist, Deidre offers her work through exhibits in galleries, her studio, and her online presence. Additionally, she is represented by private art consulting firms in Boston and New Jersey.
Deidre was awarded as one of five winners in the 2019 Storefront Art Contest held by the City of Cambridge’s Economic Development office in partnership with Cambridge Arts Council. In 2017, she was recognized for her blog, awarded "Top 75 Painting Blogs on the World Wide Web" by Feedspot. In 2016, she was a recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant to create art for the "Community Supported Art Project" through the Cambridge Arts Council.
Having majored in Visual Arts, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 1993 and subsequently set up her own studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she has been a working artist since 1994. In the fall of 2019, she expanded to a second larger studio in Charlestown, a neighborhood of Boston. Deidre is a member of the Artists' Group of Charlestown and is active with Cambridge Arts Council initiatives. She lives in Cambridge with her husband and children.
