Support Services

Special Education Services

Highly motivated students who have a diagnosed, mild learning disability may be admitted to the Academy on the condition that they participate in the Special Education Learning Center’s tutorial support. Middle School and High School students accepted to LCA with this conditional support must have a current Educational/Psychological evaluation made available to the school which identifies and documents the needs.

This support service provides one to one sessions which address the specific educational needs of each student in the context of their college preparatory classroom curriculum. Methodologies are tailored to students and their individual diagnoses. Education Plans are updated annually and reports of progress are provided each marking period. Students transition out of support when they achieve their Learning Objectives in a given year. LCA does not offer a modified curriculum or remedial instruction.
*There is an additional fee for these services.
**LCA does not offer a modified curriculum or remedial instruction.

Health Services

Our health office is staffed by a registered nurse. The nurse dispenses all prescription medicine needed by students during the school day. Required immunizations and other medical records are managed by the school nurse.

Counseling

LCA does not provide long-term counseling. A part-time counselor or counseling intern is available to help assess student situations and make referrals for professional counseling. The counselor also works with student adjustment issues and communicates with outside counselors to ensure that student needs are addressed.
