LCA took a convincing 8-1 lead over league opponent Dana Hall, avenging last season's loss at their hands.Things started off well for the Lions defense as they won an appeal on a Dana Hall runner missing third base. From there, LCA never looked back and jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a Sam Gibson triple which led to a delayed steal score by Gibson. LCA scored a run in each of the 2nd and 3rd innings to go up 3-0 and Dana picked up their only run of the game in the top of the 4th. The pitching and defense worked quickly in the top of the 5^th to get the first 3 Dana batters out, and LCA put up 4 more runs to make the score 7-1. To wrap up the scoring, freshman Fiona Dougan led off in the 6th with a solo center field homerun, and in the 7th the Lions stayed alert on defense getting a lead off strike-out and retiring the next two batters to close the game.
