LCA took a convincing 8-1 lead over league opponent Dana Hall, avenging last season's loss at their hands.Things started off well for the Lions defense as they won an appeal on a Dana Hall runner missing third base. From there, LCA never looked back and jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a Sam Gibson triple which led to a delayed steal score by Gibson. LCA scored a run in each of the 2nd and 3rd innings to go up 3-0 and Dana picked up their only run of the game in the top of the 4th. The pitching and defense worked quickly in the top of the 5th to get the first 3 Dana batters out, and LCA put up 4 more runs to make the score 7-1. To wrap up the scoring, freshman Fiona Dougan led off in the 6th with a solo center field homerun, and in the 7th the Lions stayed alert on defense getting a lead off strike-out and retiring the next two batters to close the game.
