The LCA Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Christine Metzger as Lexington Christian Academy’s Interim Head of School for the 2012–2013 academic year. Ms. Metzger will begin her service at LCA on July 1.
This announcement is the result of a months-long search and interview process that culminated with Ms. Metzger being highly recommended by search consultants, and by LCA's Board, administration, and faculty leadership after a series of strong interviews and informative meetings. According to Chairman of the LCA Board of Trustees Jim Bolton '72, "We believe Ms. Metzger brings great communication skills and gifts for engaging our community and developing leaders. And we trust wholeheartedly that she is the person God is calling forth to lead Lexington Christian Academy during this next year as we search for a permanent Head of School. Ms. Metzger is enthusiastic about the Mission and Vision of Lexington Christian Academy and is looking forward to meeting the students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni who make up our distinct New England and global educational community."
Ms. Metzger brings to LCA a solid career in independent school leadership. Most recently, she served as Head of School at the Mustard Seed School in Hoboken, New Jersey. Her former headship roles included Principal of Denver Christian Schools, Highlands Ranch Campus (Colorado), and Principal of Seven Rivers Christian School in Lecanto, Florida. Early in her career Ms. Metzger served as a teacher at Eastern Christian Elementary School in Midland Park, New Jersey. She is currently a member of the Calvin College Board of Trustees and Christian Schools International, among many other professional affiliations. A graduate of Calvin College (B.A.) and Covenant College (M.A.), Ms. Metzger is a frequent conference speaker and sees herself as a motivator, inspirer, and communicator.
Under Ms. Metzger's leadership, LCA will continue to roll out its public phase of Illuminating Lives: The Campaign for Lexington Christian Academy. The new Cross Worship and Performing Arts Center is scheduled for completion in spring of 2013.
