The Lexington Christian Academy Varsity softball team posted a 12-2 overall record en route to becoming the 2012 EIL Champions. The Lady Lions, who began the season with an impressive 8-0 start, ran through the EIL with an 8-2 League record.

Behind a powerful offense, scoring in double figures seven times and over 20 runs once, the team showed their depth and balanced attack all season. On any given day, a new player would provide the punch at the plate and drive in runs. Often leading the way, Emily Schuh ’12 or Kallan Roys ’13would put together a late game rally at the plate to propel the Lions to the win. Of note was the last game of the regular season where the Lions found themselves down 0-7 to Bancroft late in the game and found a way to forge a comeback and win 9-7 to seal the League Championship.

Not to be ignored, the Lions defense often allowed them to hold leads and close out games. On the mound for LCA was standout eighth grader Samantha Gibson ’16, who threw for repeated wins with teammates including Kristen Twomey ’13 working in the circle for the team. A complete team attack allowed LCA to land at the top of the pack come the last pitch.
