Athletics at a Glance

Varsity Boys Soccer: After coming out on top against EIL member Portsmouth Abbey last Friday by a score of 1-0, the Lions hoped to continue with that momentum this week with 2 non-league contests. On Tuesday LCA came away with a 3-1 victory against a previously undefeated Bradford Christian team. Thursday Boys Soccer traveled to face off with the Red Heifers of Gann Academy. With a final score of 3-0 the Lions returned to Lexington with a 3 game winning streak while improving their overall record to 4-4-2. The team will be back in action and return to league play Wednesday the 16th 3:30 as they travel to Concord Academy looking to avenge defeat from earlier this month.

Varsity Girls Soccer: After suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of Pingree, the Lady Lions returned to play this week for 3 crucial away league games. On Monday the team traveled to Newton Country Day picking up an impressive 5-1 victory. On Wednesday the team took the trip up to Maine to play Berwick Academy, after a scoreless first half the Lady Lions made adjustments and returned to Lexington winners, 3-0. On Friday LCA will travel to Winsor where they will look to improve on their impressive record of 8-1-1; kickoff is scheduled for 4:45.

Varsity Cross Country: The Cross Country team made a midweek trip to square off against Bancroft, Berwick, and Landmark. The Boys posted an impressive 3-0 record on the day, defeating Berwick 27-28, Landmark 26-29, and hosts Bancroft 23-34. The team will be back at it Wednesday the 16th as they host Beaver Country Day and Winsor, start time is scheduled for 4:30.

Varsity Golf: On October 9th the Varsity Golf team traveled up to Maine to tee off against Berwick Academy at the Ledges Golf Course in York. The Bulldogs came into the day posting an undefeated record of 8-0 and grabbed their 9th win of the season defeating the Lions by a score of 6-0. The Golf team’s next contest is Friday the 11th as they travel to the Landmark School; tee time is scheduled for 3:30.

Varsity Field Hockey: With a close score of 3-2, the Lady Lions picked up their second victory of the year Tuesday as they hosted Brimmer and May.  They currently sit at 2-5 on the year and will travel to Winsor Friday evening looking for that first league win; the game is scheduled to begin at 7:30.

Junior Varsity Boys Soccer: With the home field advantage this week JV Boys Soccer grabbed 2 wins over Landmark on Monday by a score of 2-1 and a 4-1 win over Chapel Hill Wednesday afternoon. They return to action Wednesday as they travel along with the Varsity over to Concord Academy, kickoff time is 3:30.

Junior Varsity Girls Soccer: Coming into Wednesday’s match versus host Berwick, the Lady Lions held a season record of 3-1 versus league opponents. The Lady Lions suffered defeated by a score of 5-1, the result leaves them at 3-3 on the year with their next scheduled match Thursday versus Cambridge Friends School, kickoff is set for 3:30.

Middle School Boys Soccer: Middle School Soccer dropped its first contest of the season on Tuesday at BC High by a close score of 2-1. With the result their record currently stands at 4-1 and will look forward to getting back out on the field when they host St Sebastian’s at 3:30 on Wednesday the 16th.

Middle School Girls Soccer: The team traveled to Boston this past Tuesday to face off against a tough Winsor side. In their 4th match of the season, the Lady Lions suffered a 7-0 defeat. Middle School Girls Soccer will go for their first victory of the season this Wednesday as they host the Meadowbrook School of Weston; kickoff is set for 3:30.

Middle School Field Hockey: Field Hockey grabbed their first victory of the season Wednesday as they traveled to the Nashoba Brooks School. Goalie Kevina Nakulunda sealed the win for the Lady Lions making 3 of her 9 saves late in the contests. The team will go for 2 in a row this Tuesday when they welcome Beaver to Ware Field; start time is 3:30.

Middle School Cross Country: After having this past week off from competition the Middle School Cross Country team will return to action Saturday the 19th against LCA’s annual Homecoming weekend rival Bancroft, race time is scheduled for 11:00 am.

Don't go hungry to the Pep Rally ~ Battle of the Bands!

Students (and parents!) that plan to stay at LCA on Friday Oct. 18th until the Pep Rally starts plan ahead NOW!   Pizza and drinks will be available in the cafeteria from 5:30-6:30. The cost is $5.00 for three slices of pizza and a drink.  You must sign up in advance.
